Brenna’s First Day of Kindergarten & Bradie Can Swim!

My baby has started kindergarten! We love the new school, and so does Brenna. Her teacher is Ms. Jaeger and her assistant is Mrs. Moore. Brenna wasn’t scared at all, and seems to love going every day. She did get a frowny face on her second day for throwing a fit after the teacher told her no when she wanted to keep coloring when it was time to do something else. (she’s had that issue her whole life) I signed her up for an after-school program called Kid’s Club where she was supposed to do Drama, computers, gymnastics, and wrestling (?). Anyway, turns out so far all she has been doing is watching movies and coloring so I think we’re going to cancel that and go back to Mommy picking her up and working from home after school even though her new school is very far away until we move. I still haven’t decided. She also has had a real bad attitude that started with the kids at camp and may be continuing with the kids at Kid’s Club. Alone time with Mommy might be exactly what she needs (insert evil laugh here). Just kidding! :)

Bradie has learned to swim this week! No floatie suit for her after the first day. She would scream every time we put her in it. Finally she just started going under in the baby pool and ventured in deeper and deeper without the floaty suit. It got pretty scary for mom but that’s how she wanted to do it. The scariest was in the wave pool at Summer Waves! So last weekend she seemed to start to swim a little but wouldn’t go anywhere, and last night, after a few trips across the pool with flippers on, she figured it out and took off! Just in time for all the pools to close! Hopefully she won’t forget over the winter. Watch the movie!

Well, Brenna’s birthday is coming up soon. I still don’t know what we’re going to do for it. Probably just a family thing. At school now all you have to do is tell him it’s your kid’s birthday and they give all the kids cupcakes–no more baking cupcakes for every kid in class! Cool huh?
