Last Saturday at Brad’s family reunion, Brenna had a febrile seizure. (caused by a fever) She got her flu shot on Friday and had been running a low grade fever but was fine Saturday morning. I forgot to take ibuprofen with me in case her fever came back. She only napped about an hour and woke up kind of warm, so I figured we’d leave when Bradie woke up. We went outside and she was jumping in the moon walk when she started to convulse! What a nightmare! Her whole body was jerking and she was foaming at the mouth, and her lips were even blue. Lucily a guest was a nurse. She said Brenna was breathing fine and had a good pulse rate. The ambulance came and Brenna was still non-responsive so we went to the ER at Rex. They did a CAT scan and some blood work. Everything was normal but we have to go to the neurologist on Tuesday to be sure. It’s so tough to see your baby in such danger!
We just got back from Matthew Luster’s birthday party where they had another moon walk. Brad was scared every time she fell down. I made the ER doctor assured me that the moon walk had nothing to do with her seizure.
Bradie still has a cold but is much better. I think I’m going to have to start letting her cry it out in a couple weeks. She is still waking about 3 times a night and is getting as fat as her sister was! I’ll have to move her crip in my room so whe won’t wake up Brenna. It’s going to be hard to listen to her cry for so long but I know it won’t be for long. I’m going to wait until we get back from GA, but won’t it be nice to sleep through the night again!
