Last Saturday I cooked dinner for my brother Todd’s birthday. While I was cooking that day, our friends, Dale and Wendy, called and were apparently feeling a bit couped up. You see, they have newborn twin boys! The babies have only been home from the hospital a couple weeks but are 6 weeks old, and they aren’t even due to be born yet. They each weigh less than 6 pounds each and feel like feathers compared to my Bradie! Anyway, we had a lot of fun visiting with Todd, Dale, and Wendy, sharing our astonishments of how little the babies are.
Bradie has amazed me with how good she is sleeping. I may have my bed back soon. She is in her crib but in my room since her room is right next to Brenna’s and I thought this training period would involve alot more crying than it has. I am on the futon mattress on the floor in her room.
We observed the class at Brenna’s new preschool today. After I had a breakdown last week we decided that Brenna needs some structure (and mommy needs some time away from Brenna). She will only go Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-12 but I think it will be great. We loved the school! Brenna didn’t want to leave. The teachers seem super. They will do whatever potty training schedule I want. They don’t require mommy’s to do a snack like others I’ve heard of, and they were so sanitary! A dream situation for a germ-a-phobe like me! They even put on new rubber gloves with every diaper change.
We have new toys! We took back the supposed-to-be-super-cool baby monitor that I bought yesterday (The First Years brand–$60!). It was supposed to be able to go 1500 ft. As soon as I took it into the bedroom last night it started ticking. I thought I would scream! I didn’t pay attention to the price of the one I picked out at Target to replace it, and it turned out it was only $20–Evenflo Whisper Connect. It is not going to have the super range but it is clear as a bell. Also, our new dvd player arrived yesterday and Brad installed it today. We thought it might help with Bradie’s constant screaming in the car since it has 2 monitors–one for each kid! They can even play video games on it when they’re older! It is super cool and much smaller than the other one.
